* disclaimer: I only teach lessons on the first Sunday every three months, therefor I have approx. 3 months to prepare my lesson.
With that said I had so much fun putting this lesson together. I really needed this lesson myself and it helped me re-evaluate my priorities and what I'm spending my time on.
I've included my lesson with notes and additions (most of which I found on the side bar on the LDS.org site).
I made those cute owls sacks that I put a small treat and a quote or story to be read during the lesson.
Signage used in the lesson (there are 4 different ones)
This note card is what I had the girls write their thoughts on at the end of the lesson
For the handout I made the owl paper sacks and inside put somethings to help them to remember to use their time wisely.
I found the "to do" lists at Michaels in their dollar sections and divided them in two to go into two different bags, I put tag on a small thing of cookies that said " smart cookies use their time wisley".
I found the plastic watches at Party City for $.35 ea and tied a tag to it that said this
And of course something with the suggestions they gave from the lesson which you can download here
Like I said I really enjoyed giving and preparing for this lesson, hopefully the girls walked away a little bit better because of it.
What a cute idea! I will try it implement it with our young women. I did download your lesson and at the end it said something about a tree? Is that for the signs or something you handed out?
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea! I am the 2nd counselor and am teaching this lesson in a few weeks. I will try to implement it as well as you did. I did download your lesson and at the end it mentioned something about a tree. Was that something you used with the signs or as part of the handout?
